Many people decide to travel to Japan in the spring, tempted by photos of beautiful cherry blossoms. Chasing places with the most beautiful cherry blossoms is almost a sport, supported by a whole range of information provided on the Internet and on TV, including forecasts of the flowering dates for the "sakura front". Well, but these are just forecasts. This year, for example, the flowering was supposed to start around March 23 in the Tokyo area, and in the meantime, we traveled with a group from Tokyo, through Himeji and Hiroshima in the last few days, seeing only buds everywhere, almost ready to bloom.
And finally, we made it 🌸 In Hiroshima, there were shy pink trees, and in Kyoto, where we arrived this afternoon, we saw the first cherry trees in full bloom. Oh, what a pleasure 🌸
You probably remember that cherry blossoms symbolize the transience of life. And do you know where this comes from? When the flowers are in full bloom and there are no leaves on the tree yet, a slight gust of wind is enough to blow all the petals away, leaving only bare branches. Especially in the context of the lives of samurai, who were supposed to be ready to die at any moment, this image was very symbolic. Today, however, we simply enjoyed the beautiful flowers, which I also share with you ☺️
