Fabulous Japan

It's already Saturday morning. Yesterday evening I came back late, freezed, so the priority was to warm up in the room and to sleep. Today is the next day when Tokyo calls, but I will try to describe to you briefly what I saw yesterday. And what happened :)

First, there was a breakfast in Matsuya - a bistro, in which you order and pay in the machine. Even the veg version is big enough. For 480 yen (about PLN 13) I got scrambled eggs with a bowl of rice, a miso (type of broth) and vegetable additives. Delicious and filling. I recommend this place for food.

Then I was at the Ghibli Museum, the Japanese animated films studio, which is called a 'Japanese Disney'. This is not an exaggeration. Even the exhibition showed that this was the inspiration when the first films were drawn. Currently, the studio creates films known all over the world and displayed in cinemas. Last year, you could see the full-length movie "Boy and heron" in Poland.

The museum is located on the outskirts of the Tokyo agglomeration, in a small building, arranged in a style referring to houses from the Ghibli movies. Especially inside, you can see it in the details of windows, doors and room equipment. Even the space is not entirely realistic, the stairs do not lead straight to each of the floors, you need to search for path, go through bridges, other stairs or to use an eleveator in a style referring to Art-Deco and Steampunk at the same time. So, fantastic, because not quite realistically. Unfortunately, taking pictures inside is prohibited, but I will tell you about it when we meet :) Interestingly, the exhibition was all described only in Japanese, but it did not cause a problem in sightseeing.

Below, there are two photos from the outside: a stained glass window located above the entrance to the museum (there are stained glass windows everywhere :)) and a robot from the movie "Laputa", which stands on the roof of the building and makes a nice impression.

The museum is located in a park where the season of admiring flowering trees (Hanami) has already begun. Yes, people stand in line to take a photo up close, and the brave mothers sit on the ground with a picnic blankets for children (I was wearing a winter cap and gloves!)

I share with you a few of the photos. I entitled them as cherries and plums, but more for a sense, because I am not sure about the cherry. It would be very early for them. Maybe some of you know what we are looking at? Except for beautiful flowers :)

In addition, I take pictures of manholes. They are various, they are designer with inscriptions, paintings, various symbols, and sometimes they are colorful, like the one in the photo.

At sunset I went to the Skytree tower. When it was build, in 2012, it was the highest building in the world (634 m). Now it is second :) From the floor on 350 meters I admired the city, which, as everyone says, reaches for the horizon. There was also a Fuji mountain visible in the distance, but it is not in the picture, which I present to you below. Doesn't it look fairytale?

And last but not least, a photo of a shopping street near the Mitaka station. It looks like a picture from a film, don't you think? I haven't seen such a place in Tokyo itself yet. Everything is more subdued. But who knows what I will see again today - Ibought a ticket to the Borderless exhibition at the Digital Art Museum. It should be amazing!
